What Made You Go to Cornell Instead of Staying in State and Attending Texas A&M?

QUESTION:

What made you go to Cornell instead of staying in state and going to Texas A&M for vet school?

ANSWER:

There's a little back story to this answer. I attended a great research internship at MIT where I got more training in synthetic biology. During a dinner lecture the speaker said, "There are so many people who would be great alumni of MIT but never will be because they never applied...people are intimidated by the name." I decided that whatever direction I would take for my post graduate studies would be at the best. I looked up what was the number one program for veterinary medicine and applied. Four years later, I have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University.
